Why Business Blogging Sometimes Fails

Business blogging is red hot right now! If you take a look over the internet you are sure to come across plenty of success stories revolving around individuals who will testify to the fact that you can indeed succeed with business blogging. However, what you will not read about are the stories of people who have failed to get any significant ROI despite their business blogging efforts.

Considering that blogging is really pretty straightforward, the thought that a business blogging endeavor should fail sounds pretty far-fetched. Yet, several business blogs do fail and here are some of the reasons why:

Inconsistency in Business Blogging

Because blogging looks so easy, several businesses underestimate the importance of prior planning. Many businesses start out without a clear-cut plan in mind when they launch a blog. They post up a blog and then wait for something to happen. When nothing does, they just give it up as nothing but hype.

It is important to remember that a blog is not a one-off strategy. The key to successful business blogging is to post consistently and regularly. Readers are likely to come back to re-visit your blog only if there is a promise of something new that is entertaining, informative and interesting! You don’t have to write lengthy tomes that will bore the pants off any reader. Blogs work best when they are short and sweet.

The ‘Me’ Factor in Business Blogging
How interested would you be in reading a blog that revolved exclusively around the life of the blog’s author or around the products that are being offered? It would be sure to bore you stiff after a while. It’s the same with your readers. While they would read one, at the most two blogs about you and the products you are offering them, after a while they will tire of it. Readers are not looking for blatant promos. What they want is something of value; they want to be entertained and engaged. That is really the hook that will keep them there and eventually lure them into buying your product or your service.

The ‘Stiff Upper Lip’ in Business Blogging
Irrespective of what product you are marketing; avoid delivering your content in a stiff monotone using heavy corporate terminology. Keep the tone light and casual. Remember you are trying to draw the readers in not push them away.

Avoiding these 3 mistakes in your business blog will ensure that your business blogging endeavor will be a huge success and not just languish somewhere in the dark recesses of the internet.
